Equal-share split. Every participating household pays the same percentage of the pool: 100 ÷ N households. Simple to run, and fine when flat sizes and family sizes are similar across the block.
Weighted-share split. Assign each flat a share-unit based on size, then divide each household's units by the total units. This mirrors how most RWAs already split maintenance: bigger flats, more units.
Worked example, 20 participating households in a mixed block:
Compare that to an equal split across the same 20 flats: every household pays a flat 5% regardless of size, whether it's a single retiree couple or a family of six. Neither method is "correct." Pick equal when the block is uniform, weighted when it isn't, and state the method in the collection message so nobody has to ask.
